The menu features finely executed, unpretentious dishes blending modern cuisines. Our 12-16 course tasting menu changes daily to celebrate the essence of each season and the bounty of local ingredients.
From the moment you're seated at the 350-year-old Tasmanian Myrtle bench beneath the captivating glow of our custom emerald chandelier, prepare to embark on a guided exploration of colour, texture, and taste.

Cavanagh’s is a cherished local institution. Since opening in 2022, it has become a place where stories are shared, laughter echoes off the walls, and friendships blossom. Beyond being a bar and restaurant, Cavanagh’s is where the spirit of community thrives.

Our tasting menu

Our menu begins with a tempting selection of intensely flavoured fast snacks featuring a mix of textures and temperatures.

Tempura unearthed mushrooms pave the way to four savoury courses showcasing the finest local ingredients, including succulent Wagyu beef, freshly harvested Timbara farm vegetables, and Buxton trout.

A seasonal palate cleanser precedes the grand finale - a main dessert course followed by petit fours.

We also have a plant-based tasting menu available if requested at the time of booking.

Bookings are essential and must be for 2 or 4 people. For private events and larger groups, please contact us. Our set menu prices range between $150 to $175 per head (excluding drinks).

Brendan and Joel meticulously craft Emerald City's drink selection, offering three distinct beverage pairings to complement your dining experience.

Choose from a non-alcoholic pairing, a whiskey pairing, or Emerald City's signature pairing, which includes a carefully curated selection of wines, cocktails, and spirits.

We have an extensive drinks list from the back bar and beer fridge at Cavanagh's and wines from the esteemed Barrique Wine Store, who have graciously entrusted us with a key to the shop.
